Our purpose - to improve human movement

With technology,

  1. we can help tens of millions of people each day improve their quality of life by avoiding pain and dysfunction. That includes school children, working adults, retired seniors, athletes and employees.

  2. we can augment the intelligence of millions of health and fitness workers, helping them to make better decisions and giving them more time to connect with their clients.

  3. we can discover new insights about human movement and how it affects quality of life.

Merging body language with science

Body language and measurements of function using advanced technology have been our teachers since 2012. We have learned that the correct choice of intervention is dependent on defining the problem in the right way. Too many health and fitness professionals jump straight to the solution without a detailed assessment of human movement. Balance, posture and whole-body movement patterns interact to output optimal movement. They also tell a story about what is missing, and where other body parts compensate for deficits.

Some very talented coaches, instructors and therapists can see or feel the whispers of a person’s body language with visual observation. Most cannot do it consistently, and they certainly cannot record it and visualise it for their client.

This is why founding CEO, Glenn Bilby, started the innovation process of merging human movement science with the craft of visual observation for the assessment of human movement.

What does Qinematic mean?

The registered brand name ‘Qinematic’ has its roots in both western and eastern medicine:

Quick Kinematics = Qinematic

Kinematics is the science of human movement, and as a company founded by practising health professionals with experience from human movement laboratories, we knew that the measurement of kinematics needed to become much easier and much quicker if it was to be used outside of university labs.

Qi & Kinematics = Qinematic

Qi is a fundamental concept in traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy. It refers to the vital energy or life force that flows through all living things. Human movement significantly affects the flow of Qi:

  • Optimal movement patterns help to unblock any stagnation and ensure that Qi circulates smoothly throughout the body.

  • Regular exercise helps maintain the balance of Qi. Balanced Qi is associated with good health, while imbalances can lead to illness or discomfort.

  • Movement and exercise can also help replenish Qi.

  • Sedentary lifestyles can lead to Qi stagnation, which is believed to cause various health issues. Regular movement helps prevent this stagnation and promotes overall well-being.

What do the orbiting dots mean?

The registered brand name ‘Moovment’ is accompanied by the registered ‘orbiting dots’ logo.
The dots represent a variety of people and recognises that we can move differently, and that there is potential for change.

However, the way we move can be classified based on our movement patterns. Some movements might be considered optimal, and others dysfunctional.

By recording, measuring and analysing human movement patterns using Moovment technology, we can hyper-personalise corrective exercise prescription to enhance performance and to prevent dysfunction.
